Federal Programs
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
REPORTS
TITLE I
Title I, Part A is a federal program which provides supplemental funding to Andrews Independent School District. The purpose of Title I, Part A is to meet the educational needs of all students who are at risk of failing to meet the state's performance standards. The goal of the Title 1, Part A program is to improve reading and learning.
AT RISK
At-Risk students are identified at each campus each year by the state and local criteria. An assessment team, made up of the building principal, teachers, counselor and parent make an assessment of each student’s needs and are placed in remedial and/or alternative programs to meet their individual needs. The district plan must be reviewed and approved annually to ensure that student needs are addressed and the graduation rates are increased. The At-Risk plan is integrated into the district's state compensatory education program and the campus and district improvement plans.
