The National High School Athletic Coaches Association (NHSACA) is pleased to announce that Mark Burgen of Andrews High School has been named a finalist for the 2026 NHSACA National Coach of the Year in the sport of golf.
Coach Burgen is one of eight finalists nationwide who will be honored at the National Coach of the Year Awards Banquet on July 1, 2026, during the NHSACA National Convention at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Conference Center in Coralville, Iowa. The banquet will culminate with the announcement of the National Coach of the Year across nineteen sports.
Coach Burgen was nominated by his state high school coaches’ association. Finalists are selected based on longevity, service to high school athletics, honors, championship success, and winning percentage. Founded in 1978, the NHSACA is the nation’s oldest coaches association and continues to recognize excellence in high school coaching nationwide.
