Dylan Ballard Named Head Girls Basketball Coach

ANDREWS, Texas – Andrews High School has named Dylan Ballard as the next Girls Basketball Head Coach. His contract was approved by the AISD Board of Trustees during the April meeting. 

 

Ballard comes to Andrews after spending the last three years as the head boys basketball coach at Olney ISD in Olney, Texas. 

 

“My family and I are honored and excited to be coming to Andrews, Texas, and working for Andrews ISD. We have heard nothing but great things about the town, community, and school district during our time in this profession,” Ballard said. “We are very eager to get moved and settled in Andrews so we can get to work. I am a firm believer in ‘success breeds success’ and I want every sport to accomplish and achieve great things, not just girl's basketball. It is going to be another very successful year in 2023-2024.”

 

He also served as the head coach for boys and girls golf and as an assistant coach for football, baseball and track during his three years in Olney. He also taught middle school and high school history classes as well as elementary PE. 

 

Prior to arriving in Olney, Ballard spent three years at Stamford ISD where he served in several assistant coaching positions. 

 

Ballard began his coaching career at Knox City High School. He was the head girls basketball coach for the junior high and high school teams. In his final year with the Lady Greyhounds, Bullard led his team to a district championship and the area round of playoffs. Following the season, Bullard was named District 8-1A Coach of the Year. 

 

Ballard is a 2013 graduate of the University of the Ozarks where he played basketball all four years of his collegiate career. He is finishing his Masters of Education at Lamar University and will graduate in May. Ballard is a native of Ponder, Texas. He and his wife, Kelsey, have a daughter, Blakely, and a baby boy on the way, Baylor.
