Classroom Technology

Teachers' Access

All teachers at Andrews ISD have access to a MacBook Pro, JTouch Interactive TV, Document Camera, and multiple software programs.

Students' Access

Andrews provides a device to all students.  In PreK-5th grade, each student has an iPad that they utilize at school.  In 6th-8th grade, each student has a Chromebook that can be taken home.  In 9th-12th grade, each student has a MacBook Air that can be taken home.  Being a true 1:1 school district creates an engaging learning environment for students and teachers.

Network Infrastructure

Network infrastructure is a key component to a successful 1:1 implementation.  At Andrews ISD, each location has new Cisco switches and Meraki Cisco wireless.  Fiber connects all of our campuses and 2Gb internet is provided from the Region 18 Service Center.

Technology Support

With the number of devices that are available to teachers, students, and staff, a strong technology support department is very important.  Currently, we have dedicated technicians for both the middle school and high school.  We also have two technicians that support the three elementary campuses.  In addition, we have recently added a remote support technician at our technology helpdesk.  This means that technical support is a phone call, chat session, or help ticket away.
