AISD's Performance Center:

The Performance Center is a 100,000 square foot special events center built by the Andrews Independent School District. At a cost of $16.5 million, the Center was the largest and most detailed project in the 2002 Bond package. Completed in March of 2008, the structural concrete and steel facility is situated at the north end of Mustang Bowl. The Center houses three performance venues: The Arena, The Natatorium, and The Concert Hall.

The Arena:

• 2,000-seat basketball/volleyball gymnasium

• Multi-purpose conference/hospitality room and balcony


• Varsity and JV – Girl’s basketball and volleyball dressing rooms


• Varsity and JV – Boy’s basketball dressing rooms

The Natatorium:

• 25 yard, 8 lane, competition swimming pool


• Diving pool (warm-up pool) 3 – 1-meter boards and 1 – 3 meter board


• “Wake less” gutter system (both pools) w/ surge tanks


• Daktronics timing and scoring system (electronic)


• Seating: 300 (with ability to expand to 700)


• Each pool has its own filtration and heating systems


• Additional UV-C filtration system (both pools)


• HVAC system with dehumidifier


• Boys and Girls dressing rooms

The Concert Hall:
